It sure does not look as nice as pictured. Wood looks a little cheap. And .. It is a little flimsy. I did not have any scratches on mine and it was pretty well packed. However, one of the pieces had the pre-drilled holes in the wrong place. The replacement I received from amazon did not have the same problem but and worked great.
I bought mine with the intention of using two sections instead of 3 due to space limitations. Upon taking one section off, you can't really tell it was designed to have 3 sections! Looking at other alternatives I think this is a great value considering that Lowes quoted me $1700 + tax + the price of the counter top to get the same design in a custom cabinet!

A bit of each of the previous reviewers are true. I initially received my bar with a missing side. The manufacture sent the replacement piece within two weeks. The drawer needed some filing in order to close completely. Other than those two miscues; this bar is a nice addition in my breakfast nook. The fine quality of the wood is what makes this piece of furniture a standout.

I never ended up receiving my bar; which I must tell you I was ecstatic about receiving! Beautiful piece of furniture, but; I ended up making a purchase at World Market as I was in desperate need of the unit. I like what I ended up with, but I'm sure this piece would have been more suitable for a city apartment. Too bad...
